Possible Ending 2

The group escape Fort Knucklebone with Zariel in tow, and make their way to the wandering emporium, where they know they will be safe…at least for a while.

Once there, Mahadi informs them that they will unfortunately need to leave, because too many powerful individuals are looking for them and he wants no trouble in his market.

He offers them one last tip.

That Asmodeus has been requested at Arkhan’s tower…His guess is that Arkhan will likely try to finish off Zariel with his forces so that he can seize control over Avernus for his goddess…Tiamat.

The group gather a bit of intel about the area, and after learning of it’s fortifications, they decide that it may be prudent to call on the King of Grimmel for aide.

It doesn’t take long for a thick fog to surround the Wandering Emporium…

The group arrive at Arkhan’s Tower with a war party lead by the warlord, king, and vampire, Dragomir Vadishvili. The king, his generals, knights, and the party arrive on sturdy warhorses.

Ghosts are sent in to engage in Krull’s hoards of undead while the rest of the soldiers and cavalry push forward.

Within the courtyard, a white dragon breathes ice down on the invaders. Hellwind, Fythe and L’hione remain behind with scores of soldiers to fight the beast as the others continue.

Inside, abishai are slain left and right.

Faerroth, having seen fit to hold the main floor, quickly changes his mind and flees up the stairs to regroup with the others.

The party give chase, and follow him up to the 2nd floor to find that Hieronymous and Tybalt are also hiding out here with a number of young dragons. A full on brawl erupts in the rooms and halls, and Tybalt is quick to dimension door out with Avunthoss-sensing that this is far too risky for their safety.

Abazon manages to slay Hieronymous in a fit of rage, but not before he grievously wounds Fluke and Rattle as they take a particularly nasty hit to protect Deverau and Fre’sh. Geralt is enraged by the death of his caretaker and lets out a bloodcurdling howl that stuns the group momentarily before Dragomir beheads the pup with cold precision.

Soldiers, summoned demons, spiritual weapons, and a panther are all effective allies in helping to slay the dragons. The red wyrmling escapes out a window during the chaos.

As the group progresses up the stairs, a line of lightning blasts through the walls and the party take cover from falling debris as they spot the ancient blue dragon, with an enraged archfiend riding atop it.

Dragomir engages the dragon while the others try their luck at fighting another archdevil.

Zariel uses the rest of her powers to fully heal the party before falling unconscious.

After a terrifying, grueling fight, the party manage to kill Gargauth…sending him back to his home plane on the material…Dragomir manages to finish off Rathguul with air support from his court wizard and other mages.

Arkhan is nowhere to be found, but the heroes at least know that they have stalled Tiamat’s release …at least for now.
