5 Simple steps to Grow on Any Social Media platform

How to grow your audience regardless of the Social Media platform you use

You want to build an audience, expand your network and create content. How can you do all three of them simultaneously? Here are five simple, actionable steps you can follow as a beginner on literally ANY Social Media Platform to start growing.

There are no complicated tactics—just plain work. If you follow it every day, you can grow your audience in no time.

Incomplete profiles are a major turn-off, whether for a recruiter, a client, or a customer. You may think that they can reach out to you and know more about you, but they would want to do a background check before interacting directly with you. And your profile is meant for that.

Consider the following scenario: You achieved something and posted about it on LinkedIn. There must be people who’ll reach out to you and want to learn more about how you did it, where you’re from, etc. But when they visit your LinkedIn profile, they see no profile picture, no Summary, No schools added, unimpressive headline, etc. They would be hesitant to reach out to you now.

Add as many details as possible on your Social Media profile . A cover picture clearly showing your face (Professional, if it’s on LinkedIn), Write a precise summary (or Bio on Instagram and description on YouTube), share about your experiences, add links to your other social accounts (so that they can connect with you at different places) or you can also add a link to your portfolio.

I can’t stop stressing how important this is and how difficult it is to follow it if you don’t plan out stuff beforehand.

There’s only one way to create a personal brand: Keep talking consistently about the things that matter to you. Share your opinions, experiences, learnings. Personalize and add value, i.e., create content that will help others.

If you have any difficulties posting consistently on LinkedIn, you can check out this video I created. Also, consider checking out seven content ideas that you can use on LinkedIn.

The best part here is that you determine how frequently you want to, and you can post. For instance, I post on my YouTube channel once every week because that’s my capacity, while I post on LinkedIn at least three times a week and create Stories on Instagram every few hours. At the same time, some Influencers post only once every week on LinkedIn and still have 1M+ followers.

Tip #2: Don’t give up early. :)

Many content creators do not so know this step. Here’s why it’s essential to pick up on the new features:

Whenever a platform launches a new feature, they want the users to use it. When you create content using those features, the social media platform pushes it and shows it to more people to become aware of the new feature and start using it more often. It’s a win-win situation — The platform gets new users for its features, and you get more audience on your content.

So the trick here is to discover new features and implement them in your content to reach a greater audience. You may start seeing the results within a few days or a few weeks.

Note: Stay Relevant to the Context.

It is one of the most commonly recommended steps by all Content Creators. No matter how many followers you have, it’s crucial to engage with them. There are three ways in which you can engage with your audience:

Neil Patel’s team still replies to almost all the comments on the YouTube videos. Don’t believe me?

Yet, if he chooses to reply to every comment, so can you. :)

3. Collaborate with other creators: Host a Live session, Write a blog together; there are multiple ideas to collaborate with other creators. How does it benefit? There is an exchange of audiences when you do something together. It’s another win-win for both/all the creators involved. :)

Don’t underestimate the power of taking one step at a time. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. I know how frustrating it is to put in so much effort with little or no results. Every day you make a Reel with so much thought, and there is an increase of only 1–2 followers. You put so much effort into creating a 10-minute YouTube video or writing a 1500-word thoughtful blog only to find it on the 10th page or even farther in the search results.

While you may have to use several techniques, looking for the right content, optimizing it using SEO, using the right hashtags, etc., but wouldn’t it be wonderful when it all comes together 3, 5, or even ten years down the line, you might have a 7-figure income. You’ll be glad you never gave up? Yes, if you are patient enough to work hard in the right direction for that long, you can achieve it.
