What Role in Life Does Media Play?

Double tap.

Scrolling.

Instant gratification.

Passing satisfaction.

From the moment that we rise to the moment we lay our head back on our pillow, the media in any and all forms invades the privacy of our day hoping to stomp out the idea of being “behind.”

What use to be newspapers and snail mail is now tweets and articles about what happened .2 seconds ago. The media is a beautiful thing that connects us to the rest of society but is it really “good?”

In a culture full of click-bait and telling your side to the story, you never really know what you are getting when you click into the online world. Every article must be taken with a grain of salt.

A person has a choice before they enter the kitchen cooking up today’s stories. They can either choose to devour everything set on their plate, leaving them feeling so full they could bust. Or, they could eat in moderation, taking small bites from here and there, leaving them feeling completely content.

That’s the beautiful part about the media.

It is what you make it out to be.
