Easy Hack To Get More Speaking Practice On Duolingo

Are you a Duolingo app user who uses the app regularly and wishes you had more ability to do speaking practices?

Do you tire of all the writing and typing parts of the lessons and wish there was a way to turn them into speaking parts instead?

If so, I have an excellent solution for you!

Doing the following steps will allow you to turn the writing exercises and most of the word bank exercises into speaking exercises.

First, you will need to do a one-time setup to enable the following settings on the phone or tablet that you use the Duolingo app.

Here are the steps to turn some more of the lessons into speaking practice.

Open the Duolingo app.

On the lessons for writing in either your native language or the language, you are learning, when the keyboard comes up, click on the little microphone icon.

Wait a moment for the microphone to kick on and then speak the reply in the language it specifies.

For some of them, there is a Use Keyboard option

Click on Use Keyboard

When the keyboard comes up, click on the little microphone icon.

Wait a moment for the microphone to kick on and then speak the reply in the language it specifies.

I’ve noticed that Duolingo will usually bring up the keyboard in the language it wants you to reply in.

If it does not, click on the little globe/earth-looking icon on your keyboard to switch to the language you need.

The dictation should pick up what you say and type it out for you.

You can close the microphone and switch back to the keyboard to check and edit the reply if it was not accurate.

I’ve noticed that having the dictionaries installed helps achieve greater accuracy.

Since implementing and using the above steps on my devices, I’ve found it so much nicer to use Duolingo to practice my language learning.

Enjoy your new enhanced speaking practice with Duolingo!
